“I feel we have achieved what we wanted which was testing our team."

So did the Uganda U19 achieve their intended objectives in the tournament that ended on Wednesday in Harare?

An invitation from the Zimbabwe cricket association proved opportune as the Ugandan side was setting in motion preparations for the ICC Africa U19 qualifiers due next year and this particular contest was meant to give the boys some sort of exposure and impetus ahead of the qualifiers.

Team manager Martin Ondeko said;"I feel we have achieved what we wanted which was testing our team with good teams and.

"I have realized the team can improve a lot.We have really managed to gauge ourselves though we shall continue engaging in more of such events before the qualifiers"

Individually, hard-hitter Zephania Arinaitwe put his batting skills to work and certainly he is reckoned to lead Uganda's batting line up as Uganda bids for a third appearance at the world cup.

Captaincy of the team is something Kenneth Waiswa will continue to be good at as the tournament revealed him as the best captain in the contest.

The Kiira College student was also the most valuable player of the tournament as Henry Oketcho emerged the best coach in the six team event.

Uganda finished third on the standings with three wins and two losses behind Zim U19 and Buffaloes X1 who came first and second respectively.
