“I know there are people with powerful machines than ours but we have the experience."

KAMAPALA - The Kajara rally team crew of Wilbert Pole Pole and Bashir Mbogo are targeting a top-three finish in the Rwanda Gorilla Rally slated for this Saturday and Sunday.

It will make up the sixth round of the Africa Rally Championship.

Pole Pole said before departure for Rwanda at Panamera that his Mitsubishi Evo9 car is "okay" and he is ready to push it to the limit.

"I know there are people with powerful machines than ours but we have the experience and we know the terrain better than the other drivers with powerful cars."

Sponsored by Megger Technical Services and Ugafode Microfinance, the rally driver said he will use this opportunity to lobby for more Rwandan drivers to come and compete in next month's Pearl of Africa Uganda rally.

"I'm not scoring points to add on my national championship, but competing in this event is good enough to motivate Rwanda and Burundi drivers to join our Pearl of Africa rally."

Hassan Alwi, Kepher Walubi, WOI Ismail Lule, Musa Kabega, Ismail Otega, Geofrey Nsamba and Jonas Kansiime are the other drivers that travelled to Rwanda Wednesday morning.
