Uganda plays its last group game against Bufallo XI

Zimbabwe U17 Cricket Week

Leopald XI 230/8 Uganda U19 164 (Leopald win by 66 runs)

The week started on a wretched note for the Uganda U19 cricket team after defeat at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The touring team which is preparing for next year's U19 World Cup qualifiers was shown they have a lot of areas to improve, losing by 66 runs against Leopald XI, a Zimbabwean select side on Monday in the Zimbabwe U17 cricket week.

The four day tournament that started on 5th August is a mixture of U17 and U19s with Uganda featuring as an outsider after getting an invitation from the hosts.

Uganda has so far played four and won two games and is currently third in the standings.

The team failed to contain the opponents' attacking shots which would amount to an eventual target of 230/8 in 50 overs.

Uganda could not successfully chase the game as they were all out in 39.1 overs in the six team tournament that ends Tuesday.

Uganda plays its last group game against Bufallo XI at the Old Hararians Ground.
