Uganda Cranes regroup for tour of Masaka

They will play a select side from Buganda Region

Uganda Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic has called up a squad of 22 players for the tour of Masaka this weekend.

The squad to be captained by Iraq-based Hassan Wasswa Mawanda starts training at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Thursday before heading to Masaka on Friday.

They will play a select side from Buganda Region at the Masaka Recreation Grounds on Saturday.

This is the latest Uganda Cranes regional tour that is aimed at garnering support for the national team from beyond the capital city as well as attract the biggest ever support for the team ahead of the qualifier against Comoros.

Cranes have toured Mbarara in Western Uganda, Soroti (North East), Gulu in the northern Uganda, Masindi (Kitara region), Arua where they have registered their only defeat against the West Nile select and then Mbale (Eastern).

Recently the national team has also been to Nakasongola as part of the FUFA Corporate Social Responsibility.
