CAF has appointed three Ugandan Beach Soccer referees to officiate the Africa Beach Soccer Championship qualifier match between Tanzania and Ivory Coast on August 28th in Tanzania.

Shafik Mugerwa will be the centre referee, assisted by Ivan Bayige Kintu and Muhammad Ssenteza as the first and second assistants respectively while Adil Oucher from Morocco will be the time keeper.

The four will be joined by Reverien Ndikuriyo from Burundi as the match commissioner.

The three Ugandans are the only FIFA Beach Soccer referees in East Africa while Sudan adds another as the only countries with FIFA Beach Soccer Referees from the CECAFA region.

Meanwhile, Uganda National Beach soccer team (Sand Cranes) has pulled out from taking part in the Africa Championship Qualifiers due to financial constraints.

The Sand Cranes were due to play Egypt on the weekend of August 26th-28th in Entebbe.
