The former Kampala mayor is launching Friendship Taxi, a special hire taxi company

He might have been a politician and former mayor of Kampala, a presidential hopeful and leader of a political party, but former Kampala mayor Haji Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala has never forgotten his roots.

Having had little success in politics in recent years, the maverick politician, who at one time was a household name in Kampala and a former ministerial nominee, has decided to rekindle his launch pad into business.

He was a taxi driver in the 1960s and he says he has seen it important to go back into the taxi business, only this time as executive, so he says.

Ssebaggala is launching Friendship Taxi, a special hire taxi company this Friday at Sheraton Gardens, Kampala.

Next time you meet a green vehicle registration number UAY 584N, it will be one of those taxis.

In the last one year, after resigning as presidential adviser in the run-up to the presidential elections, Ssebaggala has tried many ventures, including establishing a radio station and a factory at home.

However, he seemed to have made little success at these, the reason he is going back to where he started from, maybe.
