Man arrested over murder in Serere

Police in Serere district are holding a man in connection with the killing of another man at Ariamet trading centre in Kadungulu sub-county.

Suspect Adamu, 25, is said to have been in the company of the 42-year-old Yoweri Eceru the evening before his death.

The middle-aged man was found dead - with deep cuts in the head - Monday morning, according to Richard Esas, the LC1 chairman of Moru village.

It is understood he had spent the evening before drinking with Adamu and other friends at a local bar.

Fred Wagubi, the officer in charge of operations at Kadungulu Police Post confirmed the incident, saying the cause of death is yet to be established but investigations were under way.

Main suspect Adamu was transferred to Serere Central Police Station as other suspects remain at large.
