Students at higher institutions of learning have been advised to desist from accepting sexual advances because of employment promises Henry Kibirige, the head of human resource at Community Integrated Development Initiative, said a number of girls have turned to prostitution to earn what he termed as quick money to fulfil their personal needs mainly due to lack of meaningful employment.

"Look for money from jobs that do not injure your dignity," Kibirige said, adding that girls must earn their own money, pay their own bills and better themselves. He urged them to always be mindful of the choices they make in pursuit of their goals, saying every choice counts.

"I want to encourage all of you to stay safe because HIV is real. Youth like you are the currency for this country," Kibirige added. He was speaking during the commitment ceremony of over 60 students in preparation for training in leadership, entrepreneurial and other life skills at KiBO Foundation in Kansanga, Kampala, he also told the students to always discover themselves to fulfi l their missions in life.

Kibirige said if people do what interests them, they will be more creative and this will reduce unemployment. Kibirige opened up a career clinic on WhatsApp to cater for those looking for jobs, especially women.

The app will also be used to coach people on how to pass job interviews. Veronica Sempebwa, the chief operations offi cer at KiBO, asked women in positions of infl uence together with parents to empower girls or provide them with mentorship. She also expressed dismay over adults who have chosen to beg on the streets, citing employment.
