The celebrations have drawn thousands of people from all corners of the country.

It is a moment of happiness and joy at Kabasanda play ground in Butambala County as Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II celebrates his 23rd coronation ceremony. He was crowned as the 36th Kabaka of Buganda in 1993.

The prayers this morning have been led by the Supreme Mufti Sheikh Silliman Kasule Ndirangwa."We praise God for this great day of marking the 23rd coronation ceremony since your installation as the Kabaka at Naggalabi. We pray that God protects you for more years and grants you more wisdom." Ndirangwa said.

Ndirangwa also urged Ugandans to support the projects initiated by the Kabaka because they benefit the entire country.

He commended Kabaka for pioneering the fight against diseases like Fistula and efforts made in the education sector.

The celebrations have drawn thousands of people from all corners of the country.

The kingdom was restored by President Yoweri Museveni when he took over in 1986 since cultural institutions had been abolished by former president of Uganda Dr.Apollo Milton Obote in 1966.
