A speeding vehicle has knocked a senior one student of Hill Side High School dead.

The deceased has been identified as Topista Kemigabo who was knocked dead a few meters to her home returning from school.

The accident happened after the driver of a saloon car registration number UAN 127W failed to brake.

After the accident the driver of the vehicle ran into hiding and is up to now being hunted by Police on suspicion of murder and reckless driving.

"The one who caused the accident is not the owner of the vehicle" Martin Kugonza an eyewitness told New Vision.

It is alleged that the owner of the vehicle only identified as Brian had left it at a washing bay where one of the casual labourers decided to take it for a spin after washing it.

Twebaze Edison the OC traffic Kabarole condemned the act of drivers leaving car keys at washing bays while their vehicles are being serviced.

"This is not the first time casual labourers are causing accidents. Drivers should learn to be responsible enough not to leave their car keys behind" Twebaze said.
