"We want fairness and equality in this sport. If I breach the rule I should be penalised and Wapamba or Ortega wins it," Desh Kananura stated.

There was chaos as the Kabalega rally entered the fifth section in Masindi Town on Sunday morning.

The chaos started when Ssebuguzi entered the Park fame without the time card and the time marshal gave him time.

When the other drivers learnt of it they called for the disqualification of Ssebuguzi, but the officials objected saying that they have to wait for the stewards meeting.

The drivers opted to boycott the fifth section which was in Boma ground Masindi leaving only Ssebuguzi and Godfrey Lubega to drive the section.

"We want fairness and equality in this sport. If I breach the rule I should be penalised and Wapamba or Ortega wins it," Desh Kananura stated.

"Ssebuguzi entered the Park Fame without the time card and that was disqualification but these officials were playing games," Kananura added.

"We should accept defeat as drivers and that his how we shall promote the sport. I wanted a win but I broke a suspension went out and I expect Ssebuguzi to do so," he stressed.

The FMU President called all the drivers and urged them to calm down and drive as the matter was being handled.

"It was a matter of just delaying to take quick decisions but we are waiting to see what the officials will decide now that they have heard the voice of all the drivers," Jas Mangat noted.

The drivers later decided to drive the fifth section on condition that Ssebuguzi be disqualified by the audit committee.

FMU President Dusman Okee said, "It was not our mistake but the organising committee who failed to resolve the matter in time."

"I thank the drivers for understanding the situation and accepting to drive," Okee added.

By Press time, Arthur Blick Jr, Kuku Ranjit, Desh Kananura and Wilbert Pole Pole had dropped out and the rest had gone for the sixth, seventh and Eighth sections respectively.
