Triple jeopardy for former minister Chebrot

As if losing an election was not bad enough, former transport state minister Stephen Chebrot also lost a ministerial post. He was missing on President Yoweri Museveni's cabinet list.

Well, that seemed bad enough. However, he still had woes to deal with. His only hope was in the election petition he had lodged in the High Court in Mbale.

Now the final day has come and the former minister has not only lost the petition, but court has also ordered him to pay the costs of the suit. If that is not bad luck, then what can it be? The Tingey county Member of Parliament Kenneth Seyekwo will wait for his money from Chebrot as he enjoys Parliamentary benefits.

Dr. Chebrot who was also runner up in the February 18 2016 parliamentary race for Tingey county parliamentary seat in Kapchorwa district filed an election petition contesting victory Kenneth Seyekwo, accusing Seyekwo of voter bribery.
bribery and disenfranchisement.

Speaking to the press outside court Dr Chebrot said he was yet discusses the verdict with his family members and lawyers.

"Whatever decision my family would decide on the matter is what will act as a basis of my next course of action,"

Speaking to the press, a visibly excited Seyekwo called on his political foe to join hands with him and work towards the development of the electorate.

Dr. Chebrot lost the elections by 189 votes.
