The chairperson UWFA, Efrance Nanjengo also advised the women to be united and focused in order to develop football in Uganda.

FUFA will continue to support women football if the Uganda Women's Football Association (UWFA) can establish regional competitions.

At UWFA's annual general assembly at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Sunday, the executive represented by Chris Kalibala said that they will support regional women football leagues if teams are organised.

"We (FUFA) are willing to support the regional leagues, so representatives should get ready to start in their respective regions," Kalibala announced.

The chairperson UWFA, Efrance Nanjengo also advised the women to be united and focused in order to develop football in Uganda.

Since the withdrawal of women from international football, UWFA has had the Independence Cup (Mama Backer), FUFA Elite Women league.

The women leaders have lobbied for CECAFA Women Championship due in September. A number of women courses have resumed recently and an international friendly was played against the nations Cup bound Kenya.
