Jinja agricultural show starts

The 24th National Agricultural show has opened in Jinja district.

The show will be officially opened by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday and it will be closed by his Royal Highness Wilberforce Gabula the kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom.

 

According to Zardi Kachwekano of Anna and gold, a company which deals in apples in Kabale, apples are of high value and that one can start on a small scale.

"Apples mature in a period of two years and one can harvest twice in a year. Each tree can have close to 400 and 800 fruits whereby one can earn sh100,000 a day," he noted.

 

Joseph Kainesi, a farmer called upon farmers to engage in zero grazing, saying he gets 22 liters of milk per day per cow.
