Seven new balls and The Cranes replica jerseys were also part of the package.

FUFA has opened up for a corporate social responsibility campaign intended to strengthen the core values of football into the Ugandan society by donating collectables to the needy.

The federation officials chose Missionaries of The Poor, a Christian organization that caters for the physically handicapped children and those with impaired growth, to be first beneficiaries of the project that started this year.

Collectables in form of clothes and other used items close to 500kg, two bags of maize flour and a bag of sugar that were donated by football fans were handed over to the leaders of the Christian congregation at their Good Shepherd Home in Mengo, Kisenyi by a delegation of FUFA members.

The team was headed by the Vice President, Dr. Patrick Ogwel and head of finance Dicolas Kiiza.

Seven new balls and The Cranes replica jerseys were also part of the package handed over to the head of the home, Brother Roshan Beck Mop and his companions.

FUFA launched the collection campaign at the final of the Uganda Cup at Nakivubo where Vipers SC beat Onduparaka 3-1 to lift the trophy for the first time.

"This will be an annual aftermath of the Uganda Cup final in all places it will be played. This time it was in Kampala and we chose to assist the work by this Christian congregation. Organizations that cater for the needy will always be our priority," said Kiiza at the handover of the donation.

"We have 200 girls at Mengo, Kisenyi home and 200 boys at the Busega home. We need more help and thank you FUFA for considering us. We will also organize a team to compete in the next Uganda Cup competition," said Brother Roshan.

Vipers SC players also fronted the trophy to members of the Christian congregation and for the children to feel.

FUFA officials, Vipers SC players and the press were conducted to a tour of facilities of the home and the needy children.
