Prominent business man in Iganga held over murder

The accused Sinan Waiswa, a resident of Bulumwaki village, Namungalwe Sub County is said to have killed Barbra Babirye after a family misunderstanding at their marital home.

Police in Iganga have arrested a 40 year-old prominent business man in Namungalwe trading Centre for allegedly killing his own wife.

The accused Sinan Waiswa, a resident of Bulumwaki village, Namungalwe Sub County is said to have killed Barbra Babirye after a family misunderstanding at their marital home.

Police said the suspect committed the offense in August last year when he kicked the deceased in the abdomen and she died instantly.

 

New Vision has leant that he has been on the run.

The suspect's luck ran out on Wednesday when Police picked him abruptly while he was attending to his businesses in the neighbouring village of Kidaago. Police had gone to the village to investigate another murder.

Waiswa owns a chain of businesses in Iganga district and is also a mechanic at the trading centre.

Iganga Police Station chief, Nassibu Nditta said that investigations were complete and that the suspect will be taken to court on charges of murder.
