This year's competition was due to be held in Tanzania between June 18 and July 2 but the Tanzania Football Federation has declined the responsibility citing a busy international schedule for them.

Sudan and Rwanda are dragging their feet on Council of East and Central African Football Association (CECAFA) request for either of them to host the 41st edition of regional football competition -the Kagame Cup.

This year's competition was due to be held in Tanzania between June 18 and July 2 but the Tanzania Football Federation has declined the responsibility citing a busy international schedule for them.

Last month, CECAFA media boss Rogers Mulindwa said that either Rwanda or Sudan would host the competition named after the Rwandan president Paul Kagame who has sponsored it since 2002.

"We have approached Rwanda and Sudan and a final communication will be released soon," he said although the communication is yet to come through.

Tanzania has hosted the tournament a record 12 times. Rwanda and Sudan have hosted it four and five times respectively.
