Uganda Sand Cranes will renew their quest for Africa Cup of Nations with a single home and away qualifier against Egypt starting in August.

It will be the second AFCON qualifier that Uganda will be taking part in since the inception of the game in the country about a decade ago.

Uganda's first appearance in a competitive international qualifier was against Ghana last year but they bowed out 21-8 on aggregate.

The second Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations dubbed, "Nigeria 2016" has a total of 14 teams battling for the seven places for the final tournament as the host have automatically qualified.

Other countries in contention are Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Egypt, Liberia, Libya, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, Sudan and Tanzania.

The tournament is scheduled for December 13-18. The finalists will represent Africa at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas next year.
