Sheebah & Co lined up for Uganda festival in Los Angeles

On the line up of performers to light up the festival will be local artists Sheebah Karungi, David Lutalo, Winnie Nwagi, Sheebah Karungi, Desire Luzinda among others.

Ugandans in North America will bask in a fun-filled festival dubbed "Uganda Festival in Los Angeles" slated for September 2-4 at JW Marriot Hotel.

On the line up of performers to light up the festival will be local artists Sheebah Karungi, David Lutalo, Winnie Nwagi, Sheebah Karungi, Desire Luzinda among others.  

Among other events expected in the three-day gathering is a fashion show that will be highlighted by Ugandan model based in US, Aamito Lagum.

That tour will also cover Hollywood, Disneyland, Beverly Hills and Los Angeles area museums and entertainment.

The festival's organisers announced that participants will be staying in JW Marriott also in the sprawling city of South California and the official hotel of festival.

 The hotel is within walking distance to some of the world's most popular attractions like Los Angeles Laker's Staples Center, Microsoft Theater, Club Nokia, Figueroa, Grammy Museum, Congo Room, Griffith Park, Disneyland and much more.

There will also be business expos and summer tour experiences during the festival. Already the festival organisers have been engaging beauty queens in Africa to help market brand the continent that side.
 
David Muwanga, organiser's team member said, "The Festival team has engaged the reigning beauty queens in Africa as one of the Faces of "Africa is the future "campaign," he said.

 "This is to help in marketing their respective brands (countries) to the American public. These include current Miss Uganda Zahara Mohammed Nakiyaga, Miss Kenya Charity Njeri Mwangi, Miss Tanzania Universe Lorraine Marriott, Miss Rwanda 2016 Jolly Mutesi and Miss Ethiopia World Kisanet Teklehaimanot. We shall also have a presentation on Tourism sites in Uganda from the Uganda Tourism Board whom we are still hoping to buy our idea. North America is the number one tourist source to East Africa,"Muwanga said.
