Hot Pink Fashion models display designs

Last weekend, people with different abilities took part in a fashion show dubbed "Hot Pink Fashion Show".

A first of its kind, the event wanted to recognize people with different abilities as seen by society.

The show, organized by Malengo Foundation, attracted top Ugandan designers like Brenda Maraka, Gloria Wavamunno, K-Rafael, Kwesh, Kas Wear, Kona African & Indian, Martha Jabo, Beryl Couture and Eguana Kampala.

This fashion show brought together Uganda's finest fashion designers and models.

The Multi-purpose hall at Uganda Manufacturer's Association grounds in Lugogo, was a perfect venue in that it catered for people using wheelchairs.

Just before the show started, there was a meet-and-greet session, an interaction session with the models and other guests to be familiar with each other over a drink and bite.

First to hit the runway was Kori House of Fashion couture design with models doing the "protest" modelling with placards detailing the differences in abilities that society looks at as disability.

These ranged from wheelchaired models to models wearing prosthetic legs and models affected by albinism.
