A controversial penalty flick saved Kampala club from falling to rivals Simba during the 2-2 draw in the National Hockey League over
the weekend.

Simba had taken full control of the game with a 2-1 lead at the 60th minute with scores from Dickens Okello and Dennis Okende but a last minute score ended their march to victory.

This was after a decision from umpires Innocent Anywar and Micheal Nashimoro who offered Kampala a penalty in the 69 minute though Simba's manager William Topcoach said it was not a fair ruling.

"We have failed to get the 3 points because the umpires failed to make a cogent decision, the penalty flick shooter touched the ball twice and in a hockey game it's not allowed," Topcoach stated.

"I urge the federation that what happened during this game should not happen again because the goal was controversially registered."

The game saw three Kampala H.C players handed yellow cards (Timothy Ntumba, Emma Ewochu and Saddam Hussein.

Both Simba and Kampala were fighting over three points to help them reduce the gap with Wanainchi club that currently leads the table with ten points in National Hockey League round one.
