Kathbart Malinga, helped Kitende win the boys championships for two successive years before joining Sky VC.

St. Mary's Kitende coach Rafi Bachu is confident his team will win the National Juniors' Championship trophy for keeps this weekend despite the departure of his key attacker.

Kathbart Malinga, helped Kitende win the boys championships for two successive years before joining Sky VC.

Bachu insists his team is still intact and capable of winning.

"There is no big difference on the team because our team has remained the same. Even when Malinga left Carlos Omwa has stepped in and he is doing well. The only challenge is, our opponents have players from Kenya and Burundi, whose game is different," Bachu said.

"Another challenge is that they  are being coached by someone (Kitende old boy Mohammed Nepo) who understands the way we play our game."

Over 20 boys and girls' teams are expected to turn up for the two day annual UVF sanctioned competition that will be staged at Hana Mixed School in Nsangi.

The championship is expected to feature over 60 girls' and boys' teams Nabbingo, Nabisunsa, St Joseph's Girls Nsambya, Gombe SS, Mwiri College, Ndejje SS, and Namilyango College and above schools among the top contenders.
