Women’s cricket in the country has received a popular backing especially from schools and of course the success of various women tournaments like the first division League, Sixes Challenge and the Mehta League has inspired Cricket governing body, UCA to introduce a second division on the 2016 programme going forward.
“Women’s cricket has a big audience now and after so many people approaching us to have their teams in the league, we thought it was wise to have another division” said Martin Ondeko, UCA operations manager.
Five teams including Premier, JACC,Tornado, Nile,Premier and Olila High Schoool will participate in the League.
