Students lose property in dormitory fire

Property of unspecified value on Monday night was destroyed after a fire broke out in the boy’s dormitory.
A dormitory at Mandela Secondary School in Hoima caught fire that destroyed property belonging to 41 students.

Manisuru Isabirye, the Albertine Region Police Fire Officer said he was called upon by the school administration at 9:00pm and they rushed to put down the fire.
He said there were no casualties since the fire broke out when the students were attending evening preps.
He however added that property including mattresses, books, pocket money, shoes, uniforms and suit cases was destroyed in the inferno.
