Young Local Rapper O.P.U to promote reading culture

Jun 28, 2016

"...I urge every parent in Uganda to try and encourage their kids to read a book at least every month”

Rap music is about word play and lyricism. Unfortunately not so many ‘rappers' understand this especially in Uganda.

One, probably of the best cream of young rappers in Uganda called O.P.U has come out strongly to promote the reading culture in Uganda by going back to primary schools to spread the word among the school kids through his new campaign called the  R.I.C  (Reading Is Cool) campaign.

We reached him and he said;

"R.I.C is a literacy project aimed at creating awareness of the need to read in Uganda. I started the project in my former primary school; East Kololo Primary School where I visit once a week to conduct a reading club with the pupils. It is so gratifying knowing I am doing some good for the community and I urge every parent in Uganda to try and encourage their kids to read a book at least every month"

Great thinking O.P.U. We here at New Vision commend your efforts.
