FUFA given greenlight to stage official matches in Lugogo

The pitch will be legally used starting with immediate effect

Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has received the FIFA Quality Certificate.

The certificate permits FUFA to officially use the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo which is the home of KCCA FC for competitive games with immediate effect.

While addressing the media at the press conference at FUFA headquarters Mengo on Wednesday, FUFA CEO Edgar Watson said that the certificate was signed by the FIFA president Gianni Infatino.

"I'm glad to announce that the federation received a certicate that allows us to start using the stadium for official matches.  We received the FIFA quality certificate which has been given to us as Uganda and it is valid until 2020.We are able to organize any official match in that pitch" Watson said.

He emphasized that the pitch will be legally used starting with immediate effect.

"You are all aware that the launching and the construction of the stadium has been done, it is our responsibility as FUFA to use the pitch for official games. We are so glad for having completed the process" he added.
