Kisadha wins Entebbe Club match play championship

En-route to emerging champion, Kisadha (Handicap 16) saw off four opponents that included Alex Nkuyahaga (2&1) and Collins Nuwagira (3&2) in the semi finals and quarter finals respectively.

Tony Kisadha is the inaugural winner of the Entebbe Golf Club match play championship after beating Sam Sejjaaka 3&1 in the final of the tournament that ended on Saturday.

En-route to emerging champion, Kisadha (Handicap 16) saw off four opponents that included Alex Nkuyahaga (2&1) and Collins Nuwagira (3&2) in the semi finals and quarter finals respectively.

He had earlier eliminated Godfrey Nkambwe (3&2) and also beaten Allan Muhereza (2UP) in the first and second rounds.

Sejjaka on the other hand had a walk over against David Balaka and Robbins Mwehaire in the first and second rounds respectively before seeing off Michael Tumusiime (5&4) and Innocent Kihiika (1UP) in the quarter and semis respectively.

"The tension that we went through was too much and we both made so many mistakes. I hope the club can bring on more of such match play tournaments because it will surely help us sharpen our game. I want to thank all the people I faced; it was all tense throughout but I think my experience helped me through," Kisadha said after receiving his trophy and Dstv set from Etienne Marin who provided prizes for the top players.

The tournament was played alongside the Castle Lite-June Mug of Mugs tournament that was won by Adam Kojo after he returned 74nett.

Edwin Tumusiime (80nett), Etienne Marin (76) and Ali Jjuuko (74) took the groups A-C accolades with Nancy Muraya and Enid Ssebowa topping the ladies category.

Charles Kabunga (82c/b, Fred Kasumba (82) and David Balaka (85) where the top performers in the Seniors category.
