Justice David Batema who presided over the case also faulted the Electoral commission for failing to oversee the election in Luweero district when they let hooligans chase presiding officers and usurped their powers at various polling stations.
The High court in Kampala has annulled the election of NRM's Lillian Nakatte as the Luweero district woman MP on grounds she did not comply with the electoral laws and bribed voters and has ordered for fresh polls.
Justice David Batema who presided over the case also faulted the Electoral commission for failing to oversee the election in Luweero district when they let hooligans chase presiding officers and usurped their powers at various polling stations.
He found Nakatte guilty of bribing voters at Vvumba village in Butuntumula sub-county with 100,000 shillings which she gave at a savings group during campaigns.
Batema then ordered the Electroal commission to organise fresh elections to fill the vacancy of Luweero district woman representative in parliament and an order to pay Brenda Nabukenya costs of this petition.
The ruling follows a petition filed by Democratic Party's Brenda Nabukenya seeking for a nullification of Nakatte's victory on grounds that elections were not conducted in a fair manner
