Woodball: Zawedde re-sets goals, eyes top spot in rankings

Zawedde who was previously in 7th position, moved to 3rd place in the world on the women’s chart following her recent performances at international events.

Uganda's top seed Lillian Zawedde is looking forward to participating in three of the remaining five international events to improve her chances of making it to the top of the women's chart in the world.

She is at 174 points in the latest International Woodball Federation (IWbF) rankings with one point behind Hong Kong's Chung Chui Ting with 175 points in second position while Tsoi Lee Lee is leading the ladies with 240pts from 11 international tournaments.

Zawedde scored highest in Thailand Open with 47.6pts, scored 42pts at the recent Korea Open, Uganda International (30pts), World Cup (27pts), China (26pts), and 2pts in the Hong Kong but feels that she can do better in the remaining events.

Other local players who are ranked highlyare Charity Nagaba and Onesmus Atamba who are both in 15th position with 84.5pts and 82.5pts in the women and men's categories respectively.
