Ibanda accident claims three

Three people died on spot and several others sustained serious injuries on Saturday, when a speeding taxi vehicle rammed into aboda boda carrying 3 people 2 kilometers from Ibanda town, on Ibanda-Mbarara road.

The 4pm incident happened when the driver of drone taxi reg UAU 523Q heading to Mbarara failed to dodge a speeding motorcycle Reg UEJ813A that had lost control from its rider. The taxi rolled out three times according to the witness

The occupants of the taxi sustained injuries and were rushed to Kagongo hospital for treatment.   

Deo Ishungisha the Officer In charge of traffic at Ibanda police station attributed the accident to over speeding and reckless driving from both the driver of the taxi and the rider of the motorcycle.

He identified the dead as Nuwenyesiga Conrad 27 and Turibamwe innocent .The identities of the other victim had not been got by press time .They are all from the neighboring Buhweju district.
