NCS to create bodybuilding camps

Bodybuilders Ivan Byekwaso and Mubarak Kizito are in Budapest

The National Council of Sports (NCS) General Secretary Nicholas Muramagi has announced plans to establish bodybuilding training camps in Northern and Eastern Uganda.

While flagging off a team of two bodybuilders for the 2016 IBNA World Championships in Hungary, Muramagi announced that NCS plans to establish the training camps in Lira and Karamoja region to tap talent.

Bodybuilders Ivan Byekwaso and Mubarak Kizito are in Budapest for the two-day championship that starts on Saturday.

Muramagi said that the support in terms of resources from NCS shall be extended to excellent sports persons through compliant national sports association/federations.

National Council of Sports supported the team with sh17.3m for visa fees, return air tickets and upkeep for the athletes at the competitions.

In appreciation Ivan Byekwaso promised to win a medal for Uganda. Muramagi noted that Council resolved to support the duo because the athletes are achievers.

Ivan Byekwaso won the 2015 IBNA/PNBA World Cup and the IBNA Mr. Universe Bodybuilding Championships in USA while Mubarak Kizito won the INBA World Championships in Dubai, UAE.
