The absence of defending champions Dolphins leaves Seals as favourites

National Inter-Club Swimming Championship

11 - 12 June, KISU

Officials from the Uganda Swimming federation will use the second edition of The National Inter Club Swimming Championships due Saturday and Sunday at Kampala International School to head hunt for swimmers that will represent Uganda at various international swimming meets this year.

Uganda has somewhat a busy international roster and this means more swimmers will be needed to engage in the various events including FINA Short Course Championships in Canada, Africa swimming championships in South Africa, CANA Zone III in Rwanda among others.

"There is need to have more and better swimmers for the upcoming international events hence we shall select the stand outs from these  and other championships to represent Uganda" said Moses Mwase, general secretary Uganda Swimming Federation.

The two day championships will attract a total of 12 clubs including Sail Fish, Seals, Silverfin, Seagulls, Supra, Altona, Shark-Teen, Gliders, Pirates, Bubbles Makerere University, and And UCU Mukono.

The absence of defending champions Dolphins leaves Seals as favourites after finishing second in the previous edition.

Meanwhile it remains to be seen whether Silverfin will bear any fruits from the services of their fancied Phillipino coach Rose Rodriguez as she is currently in the country training them.
