Omar in the first round of the national championship competed in the MX125 CC category

The defending MX125 CC motocross champion Ali Omar has said the delay by the competitions committee and the motorsport commission to award him points for the first round of the national championship will not derail him.

Omar told New Vision Sport he will continue to push his bike to the limit as he targets victory in the remaining four events with the first being that on June 26th.

"We target winning the MX2 category season and we shall not be distracted by the delay to awards us point for the first round," Omar's father and manager Ali Omar Sr. stated.

Omar in the first round of the national championship competed in the MX125 CC category and emerged winner getting 60 points, but got 51 points in the combined race of MX2 and MX125.

So he wants the competition committee to transfer his 52 points to the MX2 category so that he can turn his attention to the MX2 category and take on rival Alestair Blick.

However a member of the competition committee said that the delay is because Omar has not written to them officially.

"We have discussed that matter twice, and told them (Omars) to write officially, a thing they have not done," the official stated.

However Ali Omar Sr. however said; "We wrote and they said that we used a bad handwriting which they could not read so we shall write again."
