New term will be result-oriented - Bakkabulindi

Charles Bakkabulindi is confident that his next five years as Minister of State for Sports will be result-oriented one.

After the new cabinet was unveiled on Monday evening, Bakkabulindi, 56, said that he expects sports federations and associations to be more independent and generate their own income to manage their own activities.

He also challenged sports federations and associations to understand the demands of National Council of Sports (NCS) for them comply with government regulations.

The Trustees Incorporation Act requires all sports governing bodies to comply with a number of regulations with have created a rift with some bodies including football governing body FUFA.

Bakkabulindi will now work under First Lady Janet Museveni who was appointed the new Minister of Education and Sports.
