Comply or stop representing Uganda, NCS warns

Jun 03, 2016

Several national sports federations/associations are hesitant to comply with the NCS demand for them to acquire certification of recognition.

National Council of Sports (NCS) Nicholas Muramagi has insisted that any sports body that will not have a certificate of recognition by June 30th, 2016 will be forced to stop representing the country.

Several national sports federations/associations are hesitant to comply with the NCS demand for them to acquire certification of recognition. Only 17 national sports bodies have complied with the exercise and have been issued with NCS certificate of recognitions.

Muramagi has argued that some sections of the media have criticized the exercise because their journalists do not have enough information on why all the associations/federations have to register with NCS.

Among the demands is that the federation/association must have an executive in place, a calendar of activities, minutes of the meetings/annual general assemblies, audited books of accounts and registering of members.
