NCS advises Robert Jaggwe to forget table tennis

National Council of Sports general secretary Nicholas Muramagi has advised former Uganda Table Tennis Association president Robert Jaggwe to forget about the office and forge amicable relations with the current leaders of UTTA.

He was responding to Jaggwe who addressed the press at UOC last Thursday over his court decision that he resumes his office within seven days.

Following cries from the table tennis fraternity, Jaggwe was last year thrown out of office for alleged incompetence before he went to court.

"Jaggwe cannot manage Uganda Table Tennis Association because he does not have a certificate of recognition to do so. He should find a way to work with the current UTTA ," Muramgi said.

"We received petitions from the (UTTA) executive committee members who were working with Jaggwe pushing a vote of no confidence against him. The clubs also said their were no sports (table tennis) activities going on under Jaggwe," he added.

Muramagi explained that they also stepped into UTTA issues after other national sports federations accused NCS of including Table Tennis on the All Africa Games in Congo-Brazzaville which did not have ongoing sports activities.

The group of Jaggwe is not the recognized national sports body for Table Tennis. Muramagi lashed out at media reports that insinuate that NCS is not mandated to disband a national sports body.

He said that NCS legal team plans to appeal the court ruling that has come with a cost because they were simply responded to the cries of Jaggwe's table tennis fraternity.
