NCS bails out Uganda Athletics Federation

NCS secretary Nicholas Muramagi handed over the sh13m cheque to UAF President Dominic Otucet at NCS offices in Lugogo on Thursday.

National Council of Sports (NCS) has given Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) sh13m to prepare track and field athletes for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

NCS secretary Nicholas Muramagi handed over the sh13m cheque to UAF President Dominic Otucet at NCS offices in Lugogo on Thursday.

"We are very grateful for the support and with this, we shall produce better results at the Olympics," Otucet stated.

"We have 13 athletes who qualified and they have started training."

NCS also handed over archery equipment to Uganda Archery Association to help them prepare for the 2020 Olympics.

The national Archery association had failed to clear sh8m in taxes for the equipment which were a donation from the World archery governing body.
