According to sources, the meeting is scheduled to start at 10:00am at State House Entebbe and will be chaired by the Party chairman President Yoweri Museveni.

The ruling NRM Central Executive Committee convenes today to vet proposed names for new appointments.

Although the agenda of the meeting is still not clear, sources said the top organ is scheduled to discuss proposed names for House committee chairpersons and their deputies. This also includes proposed names of members to the Appointments Committee that will vet the new cabinet.

According to sources, the meeting is scheduled to start at 10:00am at State House Entebbe and will be chaired by the Party chairman President Yoweri Museveni.

During the meeting, sources said the President is also likely to present his proposed names for the positions of Prime Minister and Vice President.

"The current political environment is all about appointments. As CEC we need to discuss some of the names that we think befit those positions. The names will later be forwarded to NRM Parliamentary Caucus for further scrutiny," a source said.

Rules of procedure of NRM Parliamentary Caucus require that the Chief Whip proposes names of committee chairpersons and deputies.

According to the source, the names will have to be vetted by CEC before they are confirmed.

The President is scheduled to deliver the State-of-Nation Address next week on Tuesday

Speaker of Parliament   Rebecca Kadaga last week after swearing said she had written to all Political Parties to submit names to the Appointments Committee, which will vet the new Cabinet.

Speaking to New Vision over the weekend, NRM Parliamentary Caucus deputy chairperson Peter Ogwang said the leaders were scheduled to meet with the Party chairman to determine the next Chief Whip.
