When the case came up for hearing yesterday, Senior State Prosecutor, Doreen Elima informed court that the police file was not in court and asked for an adjournment.

The hearing of a case in which Kira Municipality MP, Ssemujju Nganda is accused of disobedience of lawful orders has been deferred to June 10, 2016 over missing police file.

When the case came up for hearing yesterday, Senior State Prosecutor, Doreen Elima informed court that the police file was not in court and asked for an adjournment.

"I seek for an adjournment as we trace for the missing file," Elima requested.

This prompted Nakawa Court Chief Magistrate, James Ereemye Mawanda to adjourn the case. Ssemujju is currently out on bail.

Prosecution alleges that on October 15, 2015, the legislator disobeyed orders by Siraje Bakaleke, the Regional Police Commander for Kampala East against proceeding to an illegal rally.

Recently, Ssemujju was arrested and detained at Jinja Road Police station for several hours over attempting to walk to work in protest of high fuel and commodity prices.
