Cricket: Challengers go top of table with win over Patidar

May 17, 2016

It was a case of who scored the most runs after both teams lost all their wickets with Ivan Thawithemwira’s side getting the better of Patidar.

The 104 runs win against Patidar at Kyambogo oval on Sunday took Challengers to the top of league table as the second round of the Men's National league batted off at four playing venues.

It was a case of who scored the most runs after both teams lost all their wickets with Ivan Thawithemwira's side getting the better of Patidar.

"The team has gained momentum though we can't be complacent at this early stage of the second round," said Challenger skipper Ivan Thawithmwira.

Ham Kayondo and Abraham Alema were at the fore, scoring 27 off 38 and 24 off 58 balls respectively to inspire challengers to their win.

Guareg Patel's 28 off 53 and Joseph Byaruhanga's 12 off 20 balls could not do much to help Patidar to overcome Challengers who are now  leading the log with an 8 points difference against second placed Tornado Bee who have a game in hand.
