The team will also host Kenya in Kampala

The Rugby Cranes backs' coach Anthony Kinene is impressed with the team's fitness response.

Kinene told New Vision that the team's fitness levels are improving and he expects the players to be in top shape by end of next week as they prepare for the Elgon Cup and Rugby Africa Tier 1A games against Kenya, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The Rugby Cranes will host Kenya in the Elgon Cup in Kampala before heading to Nairobi for the return leg and Rugby Africa Tier 1A engagement.

The team will also host Namibia in Kampala before flying out to Harare for their fixture against Zimbabwe.

"Before, their fitness levels were low. I think it was because of the league fatigue but they have now picked up and I think before end of this month they will be fully fit," Kinene stated.

The team will be trimmed to the final squad of 25 players who will then go to Cheetahs Rugby Club in South Africa for polishing before returning to engage in the Rugby Africa Tier 1A championship.
