Kampala is famed for its residents’ partying but this category of party goers has for a long time not included the born-again Christians – the ‘Balokole’.

Emma Olupot, one of the visibly excited revellers at the event, revealed that he would prefer such dance parties to be organised in public spaces more often.  “When you dance for God in public, you shame the devil. It is more like bringing Jesus out to the public. It is an act that shows that there is fun in Jesus- that being born again is fun,” he said.

King Wesley, a renowned Christian radio presenter and organizer of the event intimated that this part of Christianity is very important as it serves to the non-believers the fact that getting born again can be so much fun.

“Giving your life to Christ does not mean that you have subscribed to boredom. Today’s Christians are not favoured as regards entertainment in public places. All hangouts are not alcohol or smoke free yet Christians too want to hang out. We also love life and love to dance,” he expressed.

The dance party at The Beat Connect attracted numerous gospel dance artistes including the likes of Sammy K, Lenah Spice, Ivan Tit, Lyll Mykk, Zabu, Zabuli, Daisy Ejang, Seku Martin, JK Shine and Copper & G-Way; among several more exciting ones.

DJs Rayne, Conqueror and Shawn were also present and spun the dance mixes to the utmost excitement of their crowd.
