Dolphins plan another sweep at Kenyan swimming championship

The annual championships that attracts swimmers aged 11 years and below

Dolphins Swim Club coach Muzafar Muwanguzi will next week lead a strong team of over 50 swimmers to the annual Kenya Swimming Federation (KSF) Junior Age Group Swimming Championships due May 13-15.

The annual championships that attracts swimmers aged 11 years and below will have the likes of Kirabo Namutebi, Pendo Kaumi, Karima Katemba, Darren Zaabu, siblings Michelle Sine and Raphael Sine, Haile Tunga, Jordan Samura and new swimmer on the team Abba Mayanja in action for the Dolphins who have dominated the championship for the past five years.

"We have a better and strong team now; most of the swimmers we had last year are travelling and we are hopeful we shall return victorious once again. We also have new swimmers who will be exposed to the event for the first time," Muwanguzi said after the teams' Pentathlon at Gems Cambridge pool organized to select the travelling team.

And to ensure the team travels well, Harris International the manufacturers of Riham on the same day unveiled a sh8.5m sponsorship to the team after their training.

Hebert Kaganda, the sales and promotions manager and PRO Richard Kansiime presnetd the offer to the team's administrators.

The Dolphins has won the championship for the last five consecutive times with many of their swimmers also enjoying individual glory. Riham sponsors the team to the championship annually.
