In the motocross action team captain Maxime Van Pee expects a clean sweep in all classes when Uganda battles Kenya in the FIM East and Central region Africa Motocross Championship at the Garuga race track, April 30-May 1.
His confidence stems from the preparations that the team has had ahead of the first round of the championships that will also act as the third round of the Mountain Dew National Motocross Championship.
“We are stronger now and only the wet conditions might affect some of our young riders but overall we expect to win all categories,” Maxime told the press at Garuga during a pre-race press conference Tuesday.
“We are going to have a two-day event with the first round on Saturday afternoon before the second and third round on Sunday. We have a strong team in all classes, I feel confident with all the riders and I’m impressed with their recent speeds as they all look extremely very fast, so expect an interesting event; and we hope to be on top at the end of the day,” Maxime said.
Action will have six guest riders from Kenya including their former champion Shivam Vinayak, Ngugi Waweru, Ethan Nyachae, Jet Takoi and Jayden Takoi Takini.
