Eleven-year old badminton star Fadhila Shamika has continued her winning trend after she won her third accolade in less than a month's time this season.

The Kampala Parents' School primary six pupil beat Kenya's Lakshya Pramod 2-0 to win the U-12 title at the Rift Valley Open Badminton Tournament that was held in Bungoma, Kenya.

The two-day event saw Shamika also win the Most Valuable Players (MVP) accolade of the tournament following her tremendous performance.

She had earlier this month won her first accolade of the season after beating Tracy Naluwooza at the final of the U-12 Taibah Schools tournament that was held in Kampala.

In the other finals, Uganda's Aisha Nakiyemba thumped Martins Lavina from Kenya (2-0) to win the ladies singles category.

Meanwhile others on the local team, Komuhendo and Fred Kirabo lost to Kenya's Patrick Kinyua and Mercy Joseph in the mixed doubles final.
