One of the gang's members was shot dead by the police during a shoot-out.
KAMPALA - Katwe Police is holding 60 suspected members of a notorious criminal gang called 'Kifeesi' who were arrested in an operation conducted in Busabala in Makindye division.
The group is known for terrorising Kampala and Wakiso residents.
One of the gang members was shot dead by police during a shoot-out on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson for Kampala metropolitan, Patrick Onyango, identified the deceased as Musa Kateregga alias Bob Lee.
He said the arrested suspects were picked up from Dembe Pub, where they normally converge to plan robberies.
Onyango said they are screening the 'Kifeesi' suspects to have them arraigned in court on various charges.
