Coach Kefa Kisala is finally confident that the U-20 national football team, the Uganda Hippos, will eject their Rwandan counterparts in the 2017 African Youth Championship qualifier match on Saturday.

This is after Mohammed Shaban, Frank Tumwesigye, Pius Wangi, Eric Kibowa, Halid Lwalira and Shafiq Kagimu all showed up for a friendly which they won against Bright Stars FC junior side Giant Stars 10-0 on Wednesday.

"Now, I'm happy with the arrival of players like Shaban. Besides, the way the players have responded to training is promising. We can score goals. It means we can do well against Rwanda," Kisala, who had earlier on expressed worries with their preparations said.

Meanwhile, Vipers FC U-17 league striker Laurent Iradukunda has joined the Rwanda team that is expected to arrive in Uganda Friday night.

The Uganda Hippos will go into residential training at Mandela national stadium hostels.

The winner over the two legs between Uganda and Rwanda will meet Egypt in a two-legged match in the next round next month to determine who qualifies for the finals of the youth championships in Zambia in February next year.

On Saturday, before the qualifier, there will be an international friendly featuring Azam Premier League table leaders KCCA FC against Spanish fourth division club Ramasa football club that is touring Uganda.

Kick-off of that game will be 2pm Ugandan time.
