Six houses demolished over land row

ARUA - Six houses belonging to Ahmed UjokuAliga of Swalia cell in Tanganyika ward, River Oli division have been demolished in an eviction exercise carried out under court orders.

Josephine Angucia, the police spokesperson of northwestern region said police had to be deployed to oversee the operation to avoid violence.

Ahmed UjokuAliga was reportedly dragged to court by Haji Rajab Dafala some time back over a land dispute and the case was ruled in favor of the latter.

Occupants of the houses who spoke to Arua One FM said they have nowhere to shelter.
