Champions City Oilers will open their title defense against the KIU Titans when the FUBA league finally tips off on May 6.

It will be the third time the two sides meet this year after clashing in the pre-season invitational tournaments at KIU and UCU.

In the ladies category, UCU Lady Canons will take on newly promoted JKL Lady Dolphins in the opening game of the day at the Lugogo Arena.

The release of the fixtures ends speculation on whether or when the league would start.

"As you may well be aware our leagues were scheduled to commence on the 1st day of April 2016 as per the FUBA calendar 2016.

However, due to unavoidable circumstances and in a bid to have an impetus and grand launch of the leagues, we were forced to postpone the start as we finalise with our potential partners," a communication signed by the FUBA Vice President - Administration Nasser Sserunjogi states.
