Renown reggae artiste Maddox Ssematimba and seasoned musician Benon Mugumya expressed their excitement for working together on the fourth edition of the Qwela junction.

Speaking at press conference on Tuesday, Mugumya said: “I am excited to be part of this. Which singer would not be happy to work with Maddox or these other talented musicians,” he exclaimed.

This edition will feature seven Ugandan singers in a live band performance of both the old guns and new kids on the block. Others on the cast are: Steve Keys, Allan Tonix, Kimera, Richy Kawesa and Afro-soul singer Keneth Mugabi.

Ssematimba also expressed his enthusiasm to be part of the team. “It is overwhelming to have artistes of different genres working together. Just even in the rehearsals, we enjoy. I can only promise an outstanding performance from all of us,” he said.

Mugabi, one of young artistes, could not hide his joy of working with seasoned musicians. “I have learned many things in the rehearsals we have had so far, so expect the best of me and us,” he added.

Vision Group's weekly pullout The Beat will be sponsoring this event alongside Nile Gold.

Tickets are already on sale.
